A new scarf, and a poll

I got stuck in knitting the sweater I posted the other day. I have no idea how I should do my next row, and it's annoying me. So I took a break before I ripped the whole thing.

I had this huge ball of cheap yarn in my stash for a while, and it was always meant to be a scarf. Now it is.

I went to see The Brothers Bloom today (Une arnaque presque parfaite here in France, don't ask why, it's a terrible title).

I remembered something during the movie. Not that I really forget about it, but I forget how much. You know why I love ? Adrien Brody. I love his sad, lost eyes, I love how skinny he his, and of course, I love his nose. I always like him in movies and this time was no exception.

[sewing] quick little present

I finished my work at the end of July. Last day was weird, especially when several people were already on holidays, and someone else was leaving, quite unexpectedly.

Before I left, I did this as a present to a coworker who was always very nice to me and that I liked. I feel like it's such a little thing, especially when she gave me a great necklace as a goodbye present.

I may have watched too much How I met your mother these last few days : my inner thoughts sound like Barney. Which mean they are awesome, but it's WEIRD.

Last day at work today ! I'm almost done with what I planned to finish, I may have an hour of work, including lots of printing to do. I think I won't be too much tired tonight. I mostly plan to be the nice, social girl and talk to everyone (well, everyone I like) and swear that of couuuurse we're keeping in touch. Still, I'd rather stay at home and see my friend who is in town for 2 days before moving overseas !

Anyway, I won't be at work too early, since I have to drop my parents at the airport before ! When I told my boss I would be really late on my last day for this, his only answer was "where are they going ?".

The Young Victoria

I've just seen The Young Victoria (imdb) in theaters. Two reasons got me interested in this movie. First, I love period costumes so much. And mostly :

PAUL BETTANY !!!! I never knew about it before the other day, I passed the poster at my theater and my eye got caught by something. I looked closer and OMG, here it was. His name. I had not seen him in theaters since a movie I will not name (and which sequel did not involve Ewan McGregor)

I went shopping after work today and ran into people waiting for their screening of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. Many of them were wearing costumes and I took a few pictures.

My favorite were Filch (with a bad looking plush cat), Ginny, and the Dementor ON WHEELS !! Hehe, fun. I love dressing up so I'm always amused with random cosplays ! (I ran into Dark Vador and several Jedis when Clone Wars was released ! It was awesome !)

Help needed : blogging systems

I need your help please !

One of my friends is moving overseas next year and she wants to write a blog to keep in touch with friends and family.

I said I could help her but she asked for something I don't know where to find. Here's what kind of blogging system I'm looking for

- easy to use for blogging (text and pictures) (if needed, I can help with the set up at first, but the "daily" use must be easy, she's not computer illiterate but doesn't know html)

- entries can be password protected (it's very important to her because she's a teacher and doesn't want her student to read her blog) BUT readers don't have to register (unlike friends-only entries here).

- free

Of all the blogging offers around here, do you have something to recommend ?

I have this since Sunday, before that I had the same one for about a year.
It's Chuck and Blair from Gossip Girl, and it's green, both are surprises to me
It's from

paperdollgirl who does really pretty wallpapers the way I like them : with a lot of white space (I have too many icons on the desktop right now, it bothers me).
It's actually not widescreen but still fits okay.
I love the bright colors, and Chuck's devil ears make me smile when I turn on my computer.

After almost giving up on Gossip Girl this season (both because of lack of time and the huge mess the love dodecahedron was turning into) I watched a hundred episodes this week end. Well, 8, actually but it's still not bad.

And I went from "meh, I'm not really into the show this season" to "too bad it's over I want more" in a week end...

That's because I introduced my sister to the show at Christmas and as I expected, she loved it, and was bugging me that I should watch the second season. I think she might regret, she got A LOT of text messages, especially in the last two episodes
